Located in Cordoba, Colombia, and only 2.5 hours from Monteria, Moñitos is one of the best kept secrets of the Colombian Caribbean with 32 km of soft sandy beaches along its entire coastline. - Come to the Caribbean coast and not eat an egg arepa, in our hostel or in the main park you can find them.
- A rice with crab in the Alfonso Lopez neighborhood
- A fresh panocha in Bahía la Rada
- A shrimp chorizo at Mi gorda Bella Restaurant
- Go to a pickup to dance champeta in town, there is always one on weekends.
- A sunset at the tourist pier, located in the village 2 km from our hostel.

How to get here?
By plane
The closest airport is located in Monteria, 2 hours and a half from Moñitos. From there, you have three options:
- Take a private taxi directly to the hostel
- Take a bus to Moñitos’ village and from there a moto taxi to the hostel (5min)
- Take a bus to Lorica and from there change for a collective taxi until Moñitos.
Buses to Lorica leave every 15 mins and those to Moñitos every hour.
The best option for you depends on your arrival time at the airport, as the last bus from Monteria to Moñitos leaves at 5:30 pm and the last collective taxi from Lorica to Moñitos leaves at 5pm.
By road
- I PREFER AN EXPRESS TAXI: get in touch with us and we will help coordinate the commute with a trustful partner that will drive you directly to the hostel. Cost per trip: $200.000 COP
for approximately 2 and a half hours. - I PREFER THE CHEAPEST OPTION: take a moto taxi from the airport to La Troncal (it will cost you approximately $4.000 and take you 5 minutes) and from there you can take the bus either to Moñitos either to Lorica, both drive by this road. If you take the one to Lorica, remember that once there you have to change for a
collective taxi which is located in front of
Olimpica, close to the bus terminal. The cost of this collective taxi is between $15.000 and $20.000. - If you decide to take the bus that will take you directly to Moñitos, it will leave you close to the village’s main square where you can easily find a moto taxi to the hostel.
We are located one and a half kilometers from the main park of Moñitos. The bus should cost you around $28.000 and the moto taxi charges $4.000.
