Viento Solar

Taking a motorcycle ride to the Viento Solar Natural Reserve makes travelers fall more in love with this hidden paradise. This tour combines a journey along the beach with another through mountainous country roads where you can contemplate the gorgeous scenery of green banana plantations, palm trees, and the blue of the sea. The reserve has been focused for 30 years to preserve the beauty and exuberance of the place, taking care of the native forest, creating beautiful trails, lakes and water sources, planting fruit trees and reforesting streams. On your way back, you can stop at Punta Broqueles and appreciate the power and wisdom of nature in its large rock formations upon the sea.

Isla Fuerte

Isla Fuerte is a small offshore island that is part of Islas del Rosario, the archipelago of San Bernardo and Tortuguilla. It is located just 30 minutes from Moñitos, where you can enjoy an afternoon by the white sand beach or below water with fish, corals and starfish. Another plan is to walk around the island through its abundant nature where you can see birds and sloths, get to know the famous ceiba tree and the walking tree, and end up the tour by San Diego beach or Cebolleta beach to enjoy some snorkeling. Surfers from all over the world also gather at Isla Fuerte to practice this sport when waves are strong.

Bahía Rada

If you come to Moñitos you cannot miss out on Bahía Rada, where you can enjoy a 180° view over the bay from its mirador mostly recommended around sunsets time. Close by, we also invite you to experience a mud bath at Volcán de Lodo, an experience rich in minerals for your skin as mud deeply cleanses the skin, generating an exfoliating and purifying effect to eliminate dead cells. Do not forget to go through the village and eat the best panochas (typical bread from the region) in the Pan y Coco community company.

Caño Grande

The lagoon Caño de la Ciénaga del Bajo Sinú, just 30 minutes from the hostel, invites you to explore and enjoy the biodiversity of the mangrove, its animals, its water and its beautiful landscapes. There you will find the red mangrove, black mangrove and white mangrove; you’ll be able to meet those responsible for protecting the coasts and providing shelter and food to many species. You will be able to see species such as turtles, birds, ducks, fish, and mollusks.

This tour invites you to discover el Caño de la Balsa at sunrise to observe the region’s most emblematic birds. the 3 hours tour immersed between mangroves and fauna is an invitation to connect with nature, with its senses and feels like a meditation that will recharge you to start the day.

A sunset walk feet in the water to the pier of Moñitos makes the beach the ideal setting to be inspired or simply enjoy how the colors of the sun, the sea and the shadows of children playing on the beach merge. Don’t forget to also look up as you will be able to observe migratory birds such as the gannet pelican and seagulls.
